Currabeg Stables

''The Curragh Training Grounds are among the best in the world''

Our History

John Oxx was Assistant Trainer to his father before taking over the licence in 1979. Currabeg stables has sent out almost 2000 winners, including 152 Listed winners and 137 Group winners. Among these are 37 Group 1 wins. In more recent years, the fairytale season of 2009 with Sea The Stars, demonstrated that Mr Oxx from Currabeg, was one of the greatest trainers there ever was.

Currabeg is ideally situated on the edge of the rolling plains of The Curragh. The yard is within easy access to the gallops and facilities supervised by the Curragh racecourse, home of The Irish Classics.

Currabeg has received continuous upgrading and the stable now hosts 125 well ventilated modern boxes with rubber floors & walls.
