About John & Jodi

O'Donoghue Racing

First runners will be over the winter season 2021

John O’Donoghue

John grew up in Mallow, North Cork, an area deeply embedded in the Country’s National Hunt Industry. It was however, flat racing that captured his imagination and so he spent time working for trainers Jamie Osborne & John Oxx as well as Goffs Bloodstock Sales. After graduating from UCC with a degree in Law, he and Jodi moved to the UK and he began working as Head Lad for David O’Meara.

After two years in Yorkshire, the opportunity to join Roger Varian in Newmarket arose. John spent four years as Assistant Trainer there before moving home to Ireland to take up training in Currabeg Stables in the Autumn of 2021.

Jodi O’Donoghue

Jodi’s background was in showjumping before working for Camas Park Stud while studying at UCD. She also worked for The Aga Khan Studs before moving to the UK. She most recently worked for The Jockey Club as Partnerships Key Account Manager before relocating to Ireland to run O’Donoghue Racing alongside husband John. Jodi ran successful racing syndicates with trainers David O’Meara, Tom Clover and Ken Condon and looks forward to welcoming all new owners to Currabeg this season.
